Thermakraft Premium Joining Tape is a high-end construction tape to join James Hardie RAB sheets.  It can also be used to join a wide range of flexible underlays and rigid sheathing products.  The thick layer of acrylic adhesive bonds to common construction substrates and supports a wide range of operating temperatures. 

Thermakraft Premium Joining Tape is a multi-layered reinforced synthetic tape.  Compared with most construction joining tapes, it is more tear and rip resistant, and has a significantly stronger adhesion performance.  The product is simply applied onto the lap joints of underlays and rigid sheathing products. 



General

• Installation temperature from -10°C.
• Roll size 75mm wide x 23m long.  Rolls are individually packaged. 
• Unaffected by LOSP or other solvent based treated timber. However, LOSP or other solvent based treated timber must have sufficient time for the solvent to flash off in a well ventilated area. Recommended minimum 7 days.

Limitations

• Thermakraft Premium Joining Tape is NOT a window flashing tape and must NOT be used as a window flashing tape. 
• Must NOT be used in areas where the tape is permanently exposed to the weather or UV.  This includes not using with translucent cladding materials. 
• Must NOT be exposed to the weather/UV for more than 180 days. 
• Premium Joining Tape is NOT designed to overcome poor detailing and workmanship.
• When Thermaflash is used with rigid air barrier or rigid wall underlay products, follow the joining tape installation instructions set out by the rigid air barrier or rigid wall underlay product supplier.  Building designer/specifier/installer must check with the rigid air barrier or rigid wall underlay product supplier to ensure that Premium Joining Tape is fully compatible and is warranted with their product system. 
• When using Premium Joining Tape on medium rise buildings, the designer/specifier needs to incorporate Premium Joining Tape as part of the external wall cladding system design along with the rigid air barrier or rigid wall underlay product specified. 

Compliance

When Thermakraft Premium Joining Tape is used and installed in accordance with Thermakraft literature: 

• Thermakraft Premium Joining Tape will meet or contribute to meeteing the performance requirements of NZBC Clauses B2, Durability, B2.3.2[b] 15 years*, and B2.3.2, and F2 Hazardous Building Materials. 

* Note: the external cladding must be maintained according with the cladding manufacturer’s instructions and the cladding remains weather resistant. Thermakraft Premium Joining Tape must not be exposed to the weather/UV for more than 180 days.

• Thermakraft Premium Joining Tape is designed to work on building underlays that meet the requirements of NZBC E2/AS1 Table 23, and on all Thermakraft BRANZ appraised wall and roof flexible underlays.
